fig.1-06
4. Adjust the tuning until the note name of the string you
played appears in the display.
5. While watching the display, adjust the tuning until only
the middle indicator (tuned) is lit.
6. Repeat steps 3 – 5 to tune all the strings.
* When tuning a guitar that has a tremolo arm, tuning one
string may cause the other strings to go out of tune. In such
cases, first tune the strings to the approximate pitch (so that
the note name is displayed), and then keep tuning each string
until they are all in tune.
7.
When you have finished tuning, press [TUNER] or
[EXIT].
Specify the driver settings
The sound quality of the VG-88 is dramatically affected by
how the divided pickup is installed. To ensure that the VG-
88 always plays with the best possible sound quality, you
must adjust the pickup driver settings. These settings
provide the VG-88 with information that allows it to
compensate for, and minimize, any unevenness in sound due
to the nature of the divided pickup’s installation.
If you have two or more guitars that you wish to use with the
VG-88, you must enter driver settings for the divided pickup
of each guitar. For each guitar, use the following procedure.
Settings for up to five guitars can be made and stored.
When playing the VG-88, driver settings are extremely
important to the final sound quality. You must be sure to set
these parameters correctly.

3. Specify the driver settings.
Move the cursor to “SETTING.” Use [VALUE] to select
the driver settings for your guitar. There are five setting
memories (A–E), allowing you to save five setups
comprised of the values you select in the following Steps
4–7.
You can simply select the appropriate driver setting
whenever you switch guitars so that the optimal settings for
that guitar are immediately available.
4. Select the driver type.
Move the cursor to “TYPE.” Use [VALUE] to select the
type of divided pickup that is installed on your guitar.
