Checking the system status
Here’s how to check the MV-8800’s internal software version, the amount of currently-installed memory, and
the options that are installed.
1.
Press [SYSTEM].
The SYSTEM MENU screen (p. 172) will appear.
2.
With the cursor located in the upper row of icons, press [F5](SysInfo). Alternatively, select
the SYSTEM INFO icon and press [ENTER].
The SYSTEM INFORMATION screen (Screen Guide; p. 181) will appear.
Here’s how to perform a read/write test of the wave memory installed in the MV-8800.
1.
Access the SYSTEM INFORMATION screen as described in “Viewing the system
information” (p. 321).
2.
Press [F1](DIMM Diag).
The display will ask “With Diagnosis, samples on the wave memory will be lost. Save current Project before?”

There is no way to recover the data that has been erased. (Unless, of course, you have previously made a
backup of that data.) Roland Corporation can accept no responsibility for any loss of data or any damages you
incur as a result of such loss.

[F1](No)
The message “Samples in wave memory will be lost. Are you really sure?” will appear.
If you press [F5] (Yes), the memory test will be performed without saving the current project.
If you press [F1] (No), the test will be cancelled and you will return to the SYSTEM INFORMATION
screen.
[F5](Yes) Saves the current project, and then executes the Memory Diagnosis operation.
[EXIT] Cancels the operation.
