PORTABLE PA'S range from just the right

amount of amplification for a small classroom

on up to more powerful systems suitable for

larger auditoriums or even outdoor events!

Choices include small but efficient horn speak-

ers that can be mounted on a belt or shoulder strap,

megaphone style, or large stand-mounted speakers. Generally, a portable

PA is used for voice applications but systems designed for music fidelity

are available with options for input from radios, wireless microphones and

CD players. Some systems operate on rechargeable batteries. Lightweight

plastic enclosures and built-in wheels can increase their portability. Many

of these same features are now also found in multi-purpose lecterns with

built-in sound systems. They are available in a very large number of styles

MIPRO PORTABLE MODULAR PA SYSTEMS

Mipro's PA systems range in power output from 50W

RMS to 180W RMS and can be supplemented with a

CD/MP3 player, cassette player, and/or up to 2 wire-

less mic receiver (w/16 scannable UHF frequen-

cies) options. The MA-705 and MA-707 feature 8"

full-range speakers, while the MA-808 features a 1.5"

titanium compression driver and a 10" woofer. All

models feature master controls, rechargeable bat-

teries, XLR mic inputs, line inputs and outputs (RCA

on 705 and 808, 1/4" on 707), AC and battery power sources (plus DC input

on MA-707 & MA-808), and Class AB amps (Class AB + D in MA-808). The

FENDER PASSPORT P10 The Passport® P10 is a

27W battery powered portable unit, with rechargeable

battery and charger. The P10 may run for up to 8 hours

on a single charge, and is ideal for classrooms, paging,

or tour guide applications. It comes with a strap and

mic stand adapter. The P10W has a wireless handheld condenser mic. The

P10WE system has a headset and lavalier mic, plus a beltpack UHF transmit-

Passport PD Series improves on the regular

Passport with proprietary DSA speaker designs

that feature a 5.5" woofer and dual-arrayed 2.75" tweet-

ers. Ideal for corporate presentations, schools or sporting events

for 300-500 people. The PD150 is a stereo 150W system with a 4-input

mixer (3 mic/line, and 1 mono/stereo). It has built-in digital reverb, 1 P51

microphone, the necessary cables and operates on AC or with Passport

DC power accessories. The PD250 increases power to 250W stereo, has

a 6-input mixer (4-mic/line, 2 mono/stereo) and comes with 2 P51 mics

plus cables. The PD500 model can reach 500-800 people and is powered

by a 500W Class “D” stereo amplifier. The mixer section has 8 channels

(6-mic/line, 2 mono/stereo) with 48V phantom power and selectable digital
